Internet & Affiliate Marketing - Easy Money?

So what am I getting at …

I’m not talking about earning money by using internet or affiliate marketing.

The questions is more geared towards the actual process of earning the money.

You know, “the fast and easy”, “Anyone Can Do it”, “Up&Running in 5 Minutes” products and methods sold everywhere (including by yours truly).

Lies?

I had a customer that asked for a refund from clickbank today and stated as reason, “the product was promoted as easy to use but required advanced html knowledge”.

So what happened here,

This customer read the salespage as a promise that the product would work with little or no knowledge of html.

To be honest, I had not even thought about the need to say that knowledge about html would be needed to create dynamic webpages with scripts. My bad.

But on the other hand, the sales page use references to php, scripts, dynamic content creation and other web site related things, that clearly are “above” html in the knowledge ladder.

I see the html bit as the easy part and the rest of the scripts and connections as the more complicated stuff.

Can Anyone Use This?

Of course not. But I can’t say to a visitor on the salespage that they most likely won’t have the knowledge needed to use it either.

That is the reason for including all the php, dynamic, scripts words. As that will give the buyer some kind off understanding what the product is.

My Advanced may not be Your Advanced …

Knowledge is hard to measure and even harder to anticipate. But when working on earning money online html, ftp, email and some graphic knowledge is more or less a must. Even if other people do the main job, one must have a clue to ask for it and know when things are done.

Moreover, I may find something easy to do and the next guy finds it very hard to do.

So what to do?

This is where the guarantee comes in. I never question a customer that asks for a refund. I normally ask if the refund request is from some kind of problem I can correct and if not, the refund is issued.

This is very important for me as my customers should feel that they can buy a product and give it a shot and know they can get a refund if the purchase was an error.

At the same time do I not enjoy the buy know, ask for refund in 1 hour buyers. I will refund even if the customer haven’t tried the product but I think it’s a pity. It may very well have worked for them and if nothing else, they learn from experiences like this.

The price has an important part in the refund of course. I understand refund request for $19-$xxxx products if they are completely off, but the $5-$7 products, the refunding is often a waste of time as even a 5 page pdf normally have some piece of important information that could be used to make the $7 back during the coming 1-2 years.

From there and on, any income from the knowledge is profit!
